10月15日 網走湖に行ってきました！札幌から網走湖まで自動車で5～6時間ほどかかります。連休の小旅行にはちょうど良いかも…。網走湖は食事もキャンプも楽しめる道東有数の観光スポットなんです。

網走湖はオホーツク海にほど近い位置にあり、満潮時には網走川を通って海水が流れ込んでいます。そのため汽水湖、淡水と塩水の2層式の湖となっています。この塩水部分はオホーツク海由来の栄養が蓄えられています。網走湖のしじみやワカサギが、まるっと太っていて美味しいのはそういった理由なんです！訪れた際はぜひお試しください。

国道39号線沿いにある道の駅「めまんべつ｜メルヘンの丘」は、大空町の特産品がお楽しみいただけます。有名どころとしては、しじみラーメンがおすすめです。道の駅のラーメンとは思えないほどのクオリテイですよ！しじみラーメンのお隣「ほのか」では、さくら豚や長いも、長ネギといった大空町の特産品が楽しめます。もし訪れたのならば、大空豚しゃぶ長いも丼を一度は食べるべきです！なまら美味い！

On October 15, I went to Lake Abashiri! It takes about 5 to 6 hours from Sapporo to Lake Abashiri by car. It might be just right for a short trip on consecutive holidays…. Lake Abashiri is one of the best sightseeing spots in East Hokkaido where you can enjoy both eating and camping.

Lake Abashiri is located close to the Sea of Okhotsk, and sea water flows in through the Abashiri River at high tide. As a result, it is a brackish lake, a two-tiered lake of fresh water and salt water. This salt water portion stores nutrients derived from the Sea of Okhotsk. This is the reason why the shijimi clam and wakasagi of Lake Abashiri are so fat and delicious! Try them when you visit.

Located along Route 39, Roadside Station “Memanbetsu｜Merchen no Oka” offers a variety of specialties from the town of Ozora. One of the most famous items is the shijimi ramen. The quality of the ramen is so good that it is hard to believe that it is from a roadside station! At “Honoka” next to the shijimi ramen, you can enjoy specialties of the town of Ozora, such as Sakura Pork, long potatoes, and green onions. If you visit, you must try the Ozora Pork Shabu Nagaimo-don at least once! It’s absolutely delicious!

The place to stay is Tsuruga Resort! Tsuruga Resort “Lake Abashiri-ko Hokuten-no-oka” was built based on the concept of reminiscing about ancient Okhotsk. From the entrance, you can already tell the difference! There is a calm atmosphere for adults. The buffet, with an abundance of seafood from the Okhotsk region, is a sight to behold. Crabs and salmon roe are displayed as if they were a natural part of the menu.

Tsuruga Resort Abashiriko Kitaten no Oka has a hot spring with free-flowing hot-spring water. Both the large bath and the open-air bath are spacious and liberating. The most recommended floor, however, is the “Ko-no-za” floor, where all rooms have an open-air bath, and the view is very nice, even though the rooms are over 50 square meters. You can enjoy the view of Lake Abashiri and the mountains that surround it while enjoying the open-air bath all to yourself! Please take advantage of it.
